In Bloom

A look at what's happening now and what's still to come in our garden. Get farm stand updates below or follow in Instagram or FB.

July in the Garden

July has been full of exciting milestones here at Petal by Petal. Our new flower stand officially opened over Fourth of July weekend, and seeing fresh bouquets leave the stand for their new homes was such a rewarding way to begin the season.

The garden is changing every day. Zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, lisianthus, lavender, herbs, and other summer blooms are beginning to fill the buckets, with even more flowers joining in as the weeks go on. The anemones and ranunculus have gone dormant with the heat, but the dahlias are growing and are still on track to become the stars of the garden later this summer.

Along with the flower stand, I'm now accepting custom bouquet orders for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, hostess gifts, and other special occasions. Because everything is grown here in the garden and harvested fresh, availability will always depend on what's blooming that week.

One of the most meaningful parts of Petal by Petal continues to be A New Dawn. Each week, a bouquet is delivered to someone in our community who has been nominated by a friend or family member and could use a little extra kindness. Reading your nominations has been incredibly moving, and it's an honor to share flowers with so many deserving people

Since bloom times change quickly, the best way to know when the stand has been freshly stocked is by following along on Instagram and Facebook. I'll post updates each time new bouquets are available, along with a peek at what's blooming in the garden.

As always, thank you for supporting this little flower dream. Whether you've stopped by the stand, placed a custom order, nominated someone for A New Dawn, or simply cheered me on from afar, I'm so grateful you're here. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings.

Early in the season, ranunculus and anemones begin to bloom, followed closely by peonies as the garden wakes up for summer.

August marks the beginning of dahlia season, as the first blooms are harvested and gathered into stems and small bouquets. This is when the flower stand really begins to fill up for the season.

The peonies bloom for a fleeting window in early June, usually lasting about two weeks. Their blooms are a favorite and available only while they last.

As the weeks pass, more varieties begin to bloom and the garden fills with color. This is when the season really takes off.

By July, zinnias, cosmos, lavender and other summer blooms begin filling the garden with color.

By September, the garden reaches its peak with dahlias in full bloom. From soft pastels to vibrant corals and wine tones, flowers are available by the stem or gathered into full garden style bouquets.
